Radiolucency observed at apex of affected non-vital teeth.

– Caused by inflammation due to pulpal necrosis.

Epithelial rests of Malassez encapsulate the lesion creating a true cyst.
Treatment:
Root canal, apicoectomy, or tooth extraction
with curettage
