Type: |
Cyst |
Key Features: |
– 2nd most common type of odontogenic cyst. – Most commonly affects canines and third molars. – Cyst attaches at CEJ of an affected tooth with fluid accumulation between crown and reduced enamel epithelium. – Forms around an unerupted tooth. – Can transform into ameloblastoma. |
Treatment: |
Excision, high chance of recurrence of odontogenic tumor. * This is the way it was mentioned in the Cheat Sheets. We think that if it transformed into an ameloblastoma, then the ameloblastoma has a high recurrence rate. |
